Since I am not in the Science field, I was unaware of some of these sites. One that I have used before is Gizmos, which is not included here. The article includes these free sites: EdHeads, Try Science, National Geographics, Wonderville, and Science Kids. Each site seems to be very cool, so I have bookmarked them all.

Technology in the Classroom
I found an interesting article on About.com/Teaching entitled, "Technology in the Classroom: 5 Types of Technology Needed in Every Classroom". The article names the internet, digital cameras, Smartboards, Document Cameras, and LCD Projectors. Wouldn't it be lovely if every classroom could have these items? As many of us have heard time and time again, "It's not in the budget." Most teachers have these items on their wish lists. I know that I did. I was the Computer/Technology teacher and couldn't get many of these items, even though other classrooms did. There are many districts that truly can't afford the items, let alone books. However, isn't it funny to see how the budget does get dispersed in many instances?
Students of today are a part of the digital generation, but sadly there are so many that will not be able to fully partake of all of its fruits. As a teacher, you may simply have to work with the bare minimal, but do your best to incorporate the technology that you do have within your curriculums. Where there is a will, there is a way...
